GARY — George Edward Looney, age 73, of Gary, W.Va., passed
away Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at a residence in Fort Pierce, Fla. Born Sept. 30,
1939, in Elkhorn City, Ky., he was the son of the late Ernest P. and Thelma
Wallace Looney. He was a resident of Gary the greater part of his life.
Preceded in death by, in addition to his parents; a brother, Carrol “Gene”
Looney.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Ann Slagle Looney of Gary; two brothers,
Charles Looney and wife, Francis, of Berry, Ky., and John Looney of Grundy,
Va.; two nieces, Travin Looney of Grundy, Va., Allison Nichols of Kentucky;
two stepchildren, Elijah Moore of Princeton, Randi “Peaches” Moore of Welch;
three step-grandchildren, Pandora Moore and Lestat Moore, both of Princeton,
Jaliyah Brooks of Welch; and a very special sister-in-law, Kiki Slagle of
Welch.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at 11 a.m. from the
Fanning Funeral Home Chapel in Welch, W.Va. with the Reverend Dean Hatfield,
officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, W.Va.
Friends may call Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 at the funeral home, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
