William Hobert “Bill” Davidson

PRINCETON — William Hobert “Bill” Davidson, 87, of Olive Street in Princeton passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born May 21, 1926 in Lomax, WV he was the son of the late William D. Davidson and Ollie Mae Harmon Davidson.

Bill was a retired sales agent  for Mutual of Omaha with twenty-three years service. He was a very proud U.S. Navy Corpsman serving in World War II and the Korean War. He had been a resident of Princeton since 1965 moving here from Keystone and loved Rhythm & Blues music. Bill was a man of strong Christian faith and expressed his love for the Lord freely. He was a member of the Lilly Grove Baptist Church. Every night he said his prayers for his family and friends.

He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Bill especially adored keeping in touch with his great grandson Garrett.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-seven years, Doris “ Dot” Marie Nolley Davidson of Princeton; one brother, Bill “June” Chaffins; two daughters, Susie Belcher and Beth Morehead and companion Doyle Amburgey all of Princeton; two sons, Paul Davidson of Ashville, NC and David Davidson and wife Cindy of Princeton; two granddaughters, Cara Russell and husband Andy of Charlotte, NC and Amber Crist and husband Jason of Bluefield; and five great grandchildren, Garrett Russell, Madyson Russell of Charlotte, NC, Allison Crist, Brayden Crist, Caleigh Crist all of Bluefield.

In keeping with Bill's wishes his body has been cremated and services will be conducted at a later date.
