RONALD WAYNE SMITH Sr.

PRINCETON — Ronald Wayne Smith Sr., 65, of Princeton, died, Friday, June 1, 2012. Born Oct. 6, 1946 in West Virginia, he was the son of the late Wayne Kelly Smith and Wilma Nevada Jones. He was a graduate of Gary High School, class of 1964, before serving with the U.S. Air Force. Following his time in the service, Mr. Smith worked in the coal industry before retiring as a foreman.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his brothers, Randall Smith, Rick Smith, and Robin Smith; and sister, Patricia Smith.

Mr. Smith is survived by his children, Ronald Wayne Smith Jr. of Charlotte, N.C., Frank Kelly Smith of Pearisburg, Va., and Crystal Belcher, formerly of Bluefield, W.Va.; a brother, Roger “Bubba” Smith, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the Memorial Funeral Directory. The family has honored Mr. Smith's wishes and he will be cremated.
